ISSUES
Access to Healthcare
My fight for access to healthcare is personal. When my late wife, Shelby, was diagnosed with cancer at just 24, our first thought wasn’t whether Shelby was going to be ok, but how could we afford her treatment, let alone rent, groceries, utilities, and car payments? Living through that experience I saw firsthand how quickly a medical diagnosis can disrupt someone’s finances and force them into impossible choices.
Because of that, I believe quality healthcare should be a right for everyone, not a privilege for a few. In the Statehouse, I will work to make healthcare more transparent, lower prescription drug costs, and protect families from crushing medical bills. I am committed to making sure no one in District 31 ever has to choose between their health and paying their bills or losing their home.
Public School, Teachers, and Students
I am a proud graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, and even more proud grandson, nephew, and brother of public educators. However, the success of our public schools, teachers, and students too often depends on an unfair shifting of financial responsibility from the state onto local communities, many of which lack the resources to adequately support their schools. Our students and teachers deserve stable, equitable state support to ensure their success. This begins with increasing state funding for public education and providing universal school meals so that no child goes hungry.
Affordability for Working Families
When my late wife, Shelby, was diagnosed with cancer, our first worry wasn’t her health, it was how we could afford treatment, let alone rent, groceries, utilities, and car payments. That experience showed me how quickly unexpected challenges can strain finances and force impossible choices.

Right now, a supermajority in the legislature is ignoring the rising costs of living, utilities, gas, rent, and groceries, while focusing on divisive issues that drive us apart.

We need to make life more affordable and secure for working Ohioans. That means investing in childcare, lowering the cost of essentials, and creating policies that ease everyday financial pressures. Everyone deserves the stability to thrive, not just survive, no matter what life throws their way.
Protecting Workers
Fighting for affordability only goes so far if people can’t earn a living wage. Too often, our state has left working men and women behind. We need a legislature that stands up for them - protecting their right to organize, supporting collective bargaining, and making sure their voices are heard. Every worker deserves not just a living wage, but the means to ensure their families can thrive and prosper.
Environment and Sustainability
District 31 is home to some of Ohio’s greatest natural treasures, including the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the Cuyahoga River, and its breathtaking waterfalls. Protecting these places is essential, which means holding polluters accountable and promoting clean energy and efficiency standards. This also requires providing the communities that are home to these natural treasures with the support they need to maintain, protect, and promote them, while ensuring the safety and well-being of the people who live there.

As an Eagle Scout who spent five summers working at Camp Manatoc in the Cuyahoga Valley, I have seen firsthand the importance of being environmentally conscious and responsible. I am committed to preserving our natural resources for future generations.
Voting
We need fair and free elections in Ohio. This starts with promoting access to voting, removing discriminatory barriers, and creating fair election maps that end gerrymandering in Ohio. It also requires strengthening transparency and accountability in the electoral process so that every voter has confidence that their voice matters and vote counts.
